How to make the most out of being rejected

by Steven Phillips

I am often asked how to deal with closed minded individuals and potential customers who are just nasty to deal with when approached. I’m not talking about someone just saying no. That is tough enough when it happens over and over and over again. But, I am talking about Nasty. Bottom line up front, it is just part of sales and is a complete mental game.

If you let the effects of rejection build inside of you, you will become discouraged. I remember when I decided to start a home business. It wasn’t long before I came to the realization that most of my contacts were not as interested in promoting a home based business opportunity as I was. My momentum slowed down and my excitement went with it. I couldn’t understand why the couldn’t see it. Shake it off and find someone else to talk to.

Not only that, but some of my contacts were reluctant to talk about it at all. So, I pressed on. Press on, there will be more. There will be many, many more individuals interested in your opportunity or products. Don”t let the few ruin what the masses hold in true market potential.

If you are new to outside sales, internet marketing, MLM, or network marketing, you will face rejection. It is part of the business and you have to understand it is OK. It is ok because after you understand that most potential prospects have been approached before, failed in a similar opportunity or are just closed minded. Rejection is much easier.

No one likes to be rejected. But when you are, let it go and move on. You simply can not allow someone else’s opinion affect your business building power. It is your business and you are going to grow it despite being rejected by numerous prospects. You are your business, without you there is no business.

The best way to handle rejection is to use each event as a training session. Play each event back in your mind and decide what you could have done better. Which questions could you have answered differently? In time you will have an answer for everything because prospects usually ask the same questions. At least for the most part.

Continue to believe in your product, good or service and yourself. Let your critic reject you. Press on my friend. You will be the one laughing all the way to the bank. Remember, this is your job. You are doing it for you and your family. You are in the Arena. Expect to get dirty. Expect to fight. Anything worth doing takes time, a great deal of effort, and a certain amount of rejection.

I operate a home business with MyWorldPlus and like any work from home program, MLM or sales position I have faced rejection. My business is and will grow despite what anyone else has to say about it. Stay the course entrepreneur, your business will grow as well.
